Welcome to Roussillon in the south of France, Catalan country.
This story began in the last century, when I was a young boy.
Every day my father came home bringing with him a big basket loaded with vegetables and herbs freshly picked from the family garden near our vineyards.
My mother and grandmother would use these fresh vegetables – tomatoes, onions, eggplants, and peppers, combined with fennel, basil and thyme, as well as hazelnuts and almonds, to create fragrant, spicy, delicious dishes for our family suppers.
Now, 40 years later, inspired by my memories and imagination, and using only the freshest ingredients, I want to recreate and share with you the wonderful scents and delicious flavors from my childhood that are so typical of my small village, in the Roussillon.
